Bright Blue Udu-Drum, Thin Goat-Skin Head
This small drum can sound like an udu or a ringing, tonal drum. At 10" tall, it gives a pleasing tone when struck with the fingers or palm of the hand on either hole. By covering the hole part way with one hand, striking the skin will produce a range of pitches and timbres. Fun little instrument. Finished in castile blue glass, this stoneware ceramic piece is rock solid and functional both as a musical instrument and a piece of visual art. E-mail me for information on an optional piezo electric microphone system for amplification.
The drum weighs 5 lbs, and is 10 inches tall and 7 inches wide. The drum rests comfortably in your lap, on a table, or on a small pillow.
