Black Glossy Udu - Ceramic Nigerian Hand Drum
This udu has a beautiful black glossy look and a large, clear sound with big bass. It is comfortable to play on your lap or on a table; use the palm of your hand for deep sustained notes, slap it on the side for pingy high-end sounds. Made on the potter's wheel in two pieces, it's texture was achieved with black glass/glaze. Made of stoneware ceramic, fired at 2200 degrees, this piece is rock solid and functional both as a musical instrument and a piece of visual art. The drum weighs 12 lbs, and is 13 inches tall and 14 inches wide.
